    Welcome to my photography blog! My name is Jan and I am a formally trained photographer. I studied fine art and photography for 4 years at Purdue University where I graduated in 2002 with a BA in photography, and minors in communications, advertising and philosophy. I still haven’t figured out what to do with the philosophy minor. While in college I shot my first wedding, after college I was a ‘wedding photographer’ after having babies I am an ‘everything photographer’ but my favorite is newborns and little ones. There is nothing better!

    I love being a photographer. I have to be a photographer. I could not imagine being anything else in life.

Anna Marie Senior Pictures

This is the beautiful Anna Marie!  This was one of those shoots where I had a hard time picking my favorites so I’m posting a bunch.  We started out at Butler and then worked our way over to Holiday Park for some nature shots.  Senior pictures usually last about two hours so I have some time to get to know each one.  I love hearing what they want to do after college.  Anna Marie has a great plan, even though it involves IU!  Haha, just kidding.  Good luck Anna Marie, I can tell you will have a blast in college!

Brad, Kathy, Cassia and Wes

I loved this family!  Not to mention every one of them are beautiful which makes my job easy.  We wondered around Fountain Sq. which is one of my favorite places to shoot and found some really amazing backdrops which seemed to fit this family perfectly.  Thanks Kathy for having me photograph your family.  It was so much fun meeting you all.

Andrea- Senior Pictures

Here is the beautiful Andrea!  I had a great time wondering around downtown with Andrea and her mom.  And I think downtown is the perfect backdrop for senior pictures  and I loved Andrea’s bright colors, she looked great!  We did have to battle the rain but we managed to find lots of great spots where we were still outside but out of the rain.   Once the rain let up we were able to venture out a little bit more.   Thanks Andrea and Spring, I had a great time with you!

Alpine Property Management-Aaron

This was a very different shoot for me but so much fun.  Aaron is one of the owners of Alpine Property Management and needed some professional corporate pictures for marketing purposes.  I love this as an alternative to the traditional head shots.

Kensley One Year

This little girl was so much fun to photograph!  This is my second time photographing her and I was so excited to see how she has grown.  She was stunning at 6 months and now at a year she is just as stunning with such a cute personality.  I could have followed her around all day!  Thanks Jake and Kristen for having me photograph Kensley again, I loved it!
