A Horse Named Monte
This was a very emotional session. For animal lovers, you will understand. I was called mainly to photograph Monte, a 24 year old horse who is suffering from terminal cancer. He is the one getting kisses. He is in his last few days as I write this:( So my job was to capture his beauty while he is still here. Monty also has lots of friends- another horse-Mekko, lots of dogs, tons of cats and of course his humans who will miss him dearly. So go kiss your animals and treasure the times you have with them now! I will be giving my pugs extra attention today-which Newman actually finds annoying but I don’t care!

Thanks Kathy! I loved this shoot so much. I could photograph animals all day. And any animal lover knows how hard it is to lose a pet. The family on this ‘farm’ rescued most of the animals and each one has a story. Some are not happy stories but at least they are in a happy place now to live the rest of their lives. The big beagle’s story is heartbreaking, I almost cry when I see his picture. He’s a sad little guy:(
