Family of Four

This was our last outing as a family of four, I will never forget this day! Five days before we welcomed baby George into the world, we spent the morning walking around Mass Ave., one of Henry and Ruth’s favorite places. We checked out Mass Ave Toys and of course the Flying Cupcake. Then we walked along the cultural trail for a little bit, stopping here and there for quick shoots.

We talked a lot about how becoming a big brother again, and life as a new big sister. I remember thinking they were both so in tune to what was happening for such a young age, especially little Ruth. I swear she aged 2 years as she prepared to be a big sis. We ended our little outing with a quick lunch at the City Market, Henry and Ruth had never been there and it quickly became top on their list.

Thinking back on this day makes me tear up with joy. Preparing yourself for a baby is such an emotional journey in itself. But then when you prepare two little ones, the journey becomes something different and something even more magical than I could have imagined. Now, George is here and I have LOVED watching Henry and Ruth fall into their roles as big brother and big sister. They are very different in how they do this, Henry is very playful and Ruth is very motherly, both are perfect.

Our household has definitely become crazy, loud, overwhelming, tired, hyper, confused, messy, but BEAUTIFUL!
